Can I just use my tyre inflator for dunnage bags or is that a bad idea?
We started using air bags for container stuffing about two months ago and the results have been good, no more shifted loads which is a relief. The only annoying part is inflation. Right now we borrow a compressor from the workshop next door and drag a hose all the way to the container which is a proper hassle, especially when they are busy and we have to wait our turn. I have a small portable tyre inflator in my car boot and honestly it looks like it does the same job, just pushes air through a nozzle. Would that work on these bags or is the pressure different and I will end up overinflating and popping one. I have no idea what the correct pressure is supposed to be, the bags do not have a gauge on them and nobody told us. Should I be buying a proper inflator for dunnage bag use instead of improvising? Not trying to be cheap, I just do not want to buy another tool if what I already have is fine. Would appreciate a straight answer from someone who has actually done it.
